To Online friends: Sep 5, 2011

5 September 2011

Dear Online Friend,

Greetings in the Name of Jesus of Nazareth!

You may wonder why the greetings is in the Name of Jesus “of Nazareth!” This is how I greeted the 1000 plus delegates of the Jesus’ Footsteps Retreat, 13-15 Aug 2011, in Karaikudi, at the beginning of each of the following 6 thematic Talks I delivered—

1. Footsteps of Poorness 4. Footsteps of Purity
2. Footsteps of Passion 5. Footsteps of Peace
3. Footsteps of Pity 6. Footsteps of Pain

Under each of these six headings we travelled through Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Of course references were made to the other parts of the Scriptures also wherever necessary to get a wholesome picture. Each Talk, English to Tamil, ran for about 2 hours 30 minutes. The Talks as such, without editing, were uploaded within 24 hours on the website: StanleyOnBible.com. All the Talks are freely downloadable. Get them for you and your friends. You can also watch them on www.youtube.com/user/zagariya

Thank you for your prayers, labours and offerings for this Retreat. The Lord blessed the Programme in every way much more than what we prayed for or thought. To give you a broad idea of the Retreat, a 4-page album is attached with this letter. Have a look and praise God for His merciful visitation in our midst.

The fully-edited DVDs of these Talks will be made available as a single 6-DVD Pack hopefully before the end of this month. You will be notified of the same. You can book your orders paying Rs. 300/- per pack plus 50/- for postage. There’s nothing like studying the life of Christ, and no greater challenge than to follow His footsteps.

The Retreat Songbook contained a questionnaire titled, Do I follow His footsteps? This is also attached with this letter, both in English and in Tamil. Take printouts for you and your friends for an exercise of self-examination. You will be thoroughly refreshed. Try to read Philip Yancey’s The Jesus I never knew. An unusual treatment of the life of Jesus! This 288-page book was voted as the best book of the year in 1996. The Indian reprint is by OM Books. Pick it up from Christian bookstores. About Philip Yancey, Dr. Billy Graham has testified, “There is no writer in the evangelical world that I admire and appreciate more!’’

This month we enter the 10th year since the launching of my website. We are humbled to note that friends have visited this website over 2,10,000 times! Do introduce to your friends this site which has rich Biblical content. Everything on this site is freely downloadable.

Our next interdenominational and interorganisational Programme, God willing, will be Sound Doctrine Seminar-3, English-Tamil, 21-23 May 2012, in Karaikudi. Participation by application and selection. With God’s help I led the first Seminar in 1997 and the second one in 2007. The DVDs of both these Seminars are available for your study.

Pray much for me and my associates that we would stay at the perfect centre of God’s will in our endeavours to equip the people of God. Thank you.

Yours,
R. Stanley
