Conditions and the Promise
1. Intercessory Prayer
"Now I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God for me ... Now the God of peace be with you all"
2. Obedience and Discernment
"The report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good, and innocent in what is evil. And the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet"
"Brothers, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you"
(2 Cor 13:11)
4. Positive Thinking
"Brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable Ś if anything is excellent or praiseworthyŚlet your mind dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practise these things; and the God of peace shall be with you"
5. Holy Walk
"Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ"
(1 Thess 5:22,23)
"If anyone does not obey our instruction in this letter, take special note of that man and do not associate with him, so that he may be put to shame. And yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. Now may the Lord of peace Himself continually grant you peace in every circumstance. The Lord be with you all!"
(2 Thess 3:14-16)
7. Submission to Leadership
"Obey your leaders, and submit to them; for they keep watch over your souls, as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable to you.... Now the God of peace, who brought up from the dead the great Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of the eternal covenant, even Jesus our Lord, equip you in every good thing to do His will, working in us that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen"
