Online Letter 149
26 November 2020
Dear Online Friend(s),
Greetings in the Name of Jesus the Great Shepherd of our souls!
As we approach the end of a year, and start preparing for the year ahead, we are filled with praises to God for what He has done in and through us. At the same time, we also have questions about our future, especially about the year 2021 which follows 2020, one of the most tumultuous years in history. Both these, namely, praises and questions, are legitimate. But as usual, God may not answer our questions but He keeps assuring us of His ever-abiding presence with us, both in good and bad times. The God of yesterday is the God of today, and He would be the God of tomorrow also, as unchanging as ever.
On our part, we must desire and take decisions so as to please God more than ever and bless people increasingly. While pondering over this matter, I came across Ephesians 5:1 in which we are called to be "followers of God!" The Holy Spirit guided me to search the Scriptures to find out the characteristic names by which God has revealed Himself so I may get a practical understanding of how I can be His follower. With the help of a Concordance of Bible Phrases, I could pick up sixteen of them. Corresponding to these names, I wrote down what decisions I must take. I have named this list as "New Year Decisions" which is attached herewith.
Kindly read my answer to the question, "Are New Year decisions helpful?" under "My Answers" column in this website (Number 14 under Christian Life). We have the foundational promise that, "It is GOD who works in us both to DECIDE and to DO His good pleasure" (Phil 2:13).
Do forward this list of Decisions to your Christian friends everywhere. God bless you and your friends with a new start in 2021.
God willing, I'll be addressing a Zoom Meeting organized by the Karaikudi Campus Prayer Fellowship, which I founded in 1963, on Saturday 28 November 2020, at 6:30 pm IST, Tamil and English. (Id: 480 269 7922, Password: Blessing)
