Greetings in the Name of Christ whose Name is the “Word of God!” (Rev 19:13).
In spite of the proliferation of Christian ministries everywhere, we are going through a famine for the Word of God (Am 8:11). In line with this prediction of Prophet Amos, Apostle Paul foretold of the days when people would prefer stories to sound doctrine (2 Tim 4:3, 4). Preachers who adulterate God’s Word for material gains outnumber those who preach the Word faithfully (2 Cor 2:17). False preachers and teachers thrive because of the Biblical illiteracy among Christians. They exploit people’s ignorance. God laments, “My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge” (Hos 4:6). Making Christians read, meditate and search the Scriptures regularly is the only remedy for this worsening situation. I thank God for anyone who endeavours for this. Here’s a proposal from me —
Attached herewith please find my 64-page booklet, titled, “Bible Calendar,” for regular meditation and memorization. This is a plan to read through the Bible in two years’ time and memorize 100 verses per year. Repeated reading through the “entire” Bible is basic to our spiritual growth (1 Pet 2:1-3; 2 Tim 3:16, 17). If Christians become regular in Bible reading, the long-awaited Revival will soon come and prepare us for the imminent Return of Christ (Psa 119:25,107,154).
Encourage Christian youngsters in High Schools and Colleges to use this “Bible Calendar.” The Bible verses memorized during my student days stay fresh in my mind till today. (I am 70 now). The Bible in heart will keep youngsters away from sin (Psa 119:9, 11).
